This model, with oscillating shuttle, was produced between 1879 and 1895. Our example was made in Kilbowie, Scotland, in 1891. Forerunner of the popular 15K, “Improved Family” is easily differentiated by its fiddle bed.
Its handsome decals, very well conserved, belong to Memphis or Sphinx Type, later classically used by the model 15K.
