NEW HOME 2000, 1918
Serial #: 3.821.807 (Officially dated in 1918)
Condition: Working
This example was bought by my grand-mother Rosario Cantarero in Cabra (Spain), when she married in 1918, and it arrived to me as a gift of my sister Charo. Therefore I am very fond of my NH 2000! Besides, New Home is a rare make in Spain.
It looks in perfect condition and works very well. The lack of nickelling suggests the World War industrial restrictions. The two drawers cabinet, with cast-iron logos on its sides is now separated.
The bed decals show an Exhibition Medal, and the slogan “Light Running” under the greyhound, and the place of Orange, Mass, USA.
Many New Home models are reported in the Web: # 914, # 915, #
4, # 5, #14, # 15,AB, Midget. And many makes were made by New Home:
Climax | Minnesota |
Champion | New Companion |
Empire | New Ideal |
Greyhound | Ruby |
Helpmate | Solingen |
Home Companion |
However I never found a mention of the model 2000. Any information would be appreciated.
